Qualitative: value factors
-
Small is BeautifulAgainst
Large-cap company ($404.0B market cap). It is widely followed by analysts and big investors, so the market is less likely to overlook it.
-
Annuity BusinessNeutral
Revenue has been steady, but there is no clear sign it comes from recurring contracts: revenue rose every year for the last 3 years.
-
Durable Competitive AdvantageSupports
Gross margin of 61.9% and net margin of 28.6% show pricing power that competitors haven't eroded, a sign of a moat.
-
Revenues & CommoditySupports
Revenue from Beverages - Non-Alcoholic isn't tied to commodity prices, so earnings are more predictable.
-
Need for CapitalAgainst
The business needs significant debt or capital spending: debt-to-equity is 1.16 (threshold: below 1); capital spending uses 29% of operating cash flow.
-
Insider BuyingNeutral
In the past two years insiders made 1 purchases ($998.7K) and 40 sales ($302.6M). Some insiders are buying, but sales outweigh purchases.
Qualitative: growth factors
-
Market PotentialAgainst
Its market doesn't look like a fast-growing one: revenue has grown 3.7% per year.
-
New Goods/Services & Customer OrientationNeutral
Not enough R&D and revenue history to judge the product pipeline.
-
Research & DevelopmentNeutral
No R&D expense reported, so the company isn't investing in new technology through R&D.
-
Profit MarginsSupports
Gross 61.9%, operating 34.9%, net 28.6%. High margins show customers are willing to pay for its products.
-
Market ShareNeutral
At $404.0B it is already a dominant player, so there's less room to gain share (revenue growth 3.7% per year).
